ADE

ADE, the world's leading conference and festival for electronic music, and Sena, the music rights organization that provides licenses for (dance) events on behalf of musicians, producers and labels, have entered into a partnership.

It is very important for Sena to reach a large group of (international) rights holders because their recordings have been played at (dance) events, but also on radio or television, for example. In addition, Sena maintains relationships with a large number of event organizers in the Netherlands. The Amsterdam Dance Event, which brings together thousands of electronic music professionals every year, is the ideal time for this.

Sena will be present during ADE from October 16 to 20, 2024. In the near future we will provide more information on this page about where we are present.

Program at ADE

What?

When?

Business Hub in Hotel Andaz

Are you a musician or do you have your own label and do you want to get the most out of your music? We arrange the rights of musicians and producers. If your music has been played in public on radio, television or a (dance) event, you may be entitled to compensation.

Are you already a rights holder with Sena? But do you have questions about how to register repertoire or do you have a double claim? Our colleagues at the Service Desk are happy to help you during ADE.

Even if you are not (yet) a rights holder at Sena, you can come by. We will then discuss with you whether it is wise to register.

You will find us from October 16 to 18 at Hotel Andaz. You can schedule an appointment in advance via servicedesk@sena.nl

Music Rights on Tour met Laura van Dam

Every artist is confronted with the challenges of music and law at some point.

Questions such as: "Who receives payments from BumaStemra and what do I have to do to qualify?" and "Do I get money from Sena for live performances?" or "What are the differences and similarities between BumaStemra (copyright) and Sena (neighboring law)?"

Come to ADE Lab for a tailor-made Masterclass. This session will be both informative and interactive, with a quiz and discussion about how DJ Laura van Dam creates her tracks and manages her business.

Our moderator Martijn Crama and colleagues Esther Maijer from BumaStemra and Silvia Biemans from Sena will tell you everything about music rights, how the system works and how it leads to payments. To ensure that no one leaves empty-handed, everyone receives a well-filled goodie bag. In addition, the three best quiz winners have a chance to win a nice voucher.

              19 October
De Brakke Grond - Nes 45
              12.15 - 13.45 uur

Workshop 'On track with your neighbouring rights'

In this workshop we take a journey through all aspects related to the neighboring rights of makers and producers. To receive compensation from Sena, you must be registered with Sena as a music maker and/or producer. In addition, the music you make must be played in public and this repertoire must be registered with us.

Using your practical examples, Willem (Events Account Manager) and Danielle (Producers Account Manager) from Sena explain how they approach collecting, distributing and paying out the fees received from event organizers. We also hear from composer and musician Bart Revier how these funds end up with the right musicians and producers and how you as a maker can best arrange this yourself.
